About St. Augustine

Bridge of Lions St. Augustine is more than just another Florida coastal community. It is the nation's oldest city. It's also an intriguing city surrounded by water everywhere. The Atlantic Ocean, intercoastal, salt run, marsh and rivers are full of wildlife, fishing and fun. Here you can enjoy the casual and friendly small beach town atmosphere on either the island or the mainland.

The city, located in beautiful St. Johns County, has a wide variety of activities to keep you busy, such as visiting the many art museums, kicking back to music in the square, playing a few rounds of golf at one of the many golf courses, and fishing in one of the area's varied bodies of water. Or you could take a romantic tour of the town in a horse drawn carriage while one of the locals (or transplanted locals) fills you in on the magnificent history of St. Augustine. The city also offers the nationally renowned Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, as well as the beautiful historical Flagler College. Historical St. Augustine is located in the heart of St. Johns County with a romantic charm enjoyed by both visitors and residents year round.

Own a home in historical downtown, or across the Bridge of Lions in Davis Shores, and enjoy the simple life. And if you want the big city life, Jacksonville is just up the road.

St. Augustine Beach

St. Johns County has 42 miles of beaches, from Ponte Vedra Beach in the northern part of the county, to the beaches of Anastasia Island and Crescent Beach in the south, all without high-rise condominiums blocking your view of the ocean. The area offers plenty of water for beach going, surfing, boating, kayaking, fishing and just about any type of water sports. If you prefer green fairways to blue waters, the county hosts the PGA Tour and the ATP Tour to meet your every golfing desire.

Business men and women will find the economic outlook for St. Johns County promising as well, as local and state incentives are provided to bring in new businesses and help existing businesses to expand.

Come to St. Augustine Florida and take a look for yourself.

Trivia: Did you know that Spanish St. Augustine is one of only three walled cities ever constructed in North America? The other two are Charleston, South Carolina (by the British) and Quebec City, Canada (French).
