St. Augustine Maps St. Augustine is on the Atlantic coast in the southeastern portion of the United States. It is located about 45 minutes south of Jacksonville, the nearest "big city". We are fortunately to have a superb interstate system of roads making St. Augustine surprisingly convenient to reach from other Florida cities such as Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Miami. ![]() Driving to St. Augustine Interstate 95 is main north-south driving route to St. Augustine, starting at the Canadian border in Maine and going south through all of the eastern seaboard states. The interstate enters Florida at Jacksonville and passes through St. Johns County near St. Augustine, continuing south to Miami. Flying to St. Augustine The St. Augustine / St. Johns County Airport is a small community airport that has limited flights and carriers servicing other cities. The nearest large International airports are Jacksonville (JAX), Orlando (ORL) and Tampa (TPA). Another option if you prefer to be on the beach is St. Augustine Beach or several other small nearby communities. Many of the historical tourist attractions are in the downtown area. Also you'll find excellent restaurants and wonderfully charming Bed and Breakfasts and convenient hotels.
