Now wouldn't it be wonderful if every weather report read like that? I can't promise that it will, but I can promise if you enjoy outdoor activities, St. Augustine's favorable climate will let you make the most of every day.

The city's location is more moderate in climate than sub-tropical south Florida and most winter days are cool, not cold thanks to the Gulf Stream flowing offshore. With low temperatures in January averaging 46°F (7C) and high temperatures in July rising to 89°F (31C), you'll find our climate perfect for enjoying your favorite outdoor activity (skiing, snowboarding and ice skating being the exception, of course!)

September is the wettest month of the year and November, the driest.

Does it snow in St. Augustine?

I occasionally get asked if it snows in St. Augustine. Now there's a good question! While the Florida panhandle cities of Pensacola and Tallahassee have received snow several times in the past decades, St. Augustine is generally snow free. The big storm came in February 1951 when about 2 inches (50 mm) accumulated. As recently as January 2008 light snow flurries were reported near Daytona Beach but we didn't see any direct snow. So, to answer your question, yes St. Augustine does receive snow on occasion however it is very rare, newsworthy and a delight for all residents.
